Magellan Library
Magellan Library can be used to organise your library. Books, teaching materials, CDs, DVDs and other media can be researched and lent out. Magellan Library works with the Magellan database meaning teachers and pupils appear automatically as borrowers though of course additional persons can also be entered. The common data stock makes it possible, for instance, for schools to check whether a pupil has returned all the books they borrowed before leaving the school.
The process for lending and return of books is very simple - a barcode scanner scans the barcode on the library pass and book.
Functions
- Classification of books, teaching resources and other media materials (by title, year of publication, key words etc.)
- Research of books and multimedia materials (using a search filter)
- Lending and return of books, teaching resources and multimedia materials (for pupils, teachers or others)
- Printing of library passes
- Reminder process for overdue books
- Magazines or other media materials can be blocked for lending for reference library
- Books and media materials can be inventoried using Magellan Budget and Inventory
- Multi-client enabled database (i.e. several external sites or schools can be managed using one database)
